Man Trapped, Killed In Cement Machine At Port Everglades

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) (11:52 a.m.) — A man was trapped in a cement mixing machine at Port Everglades in Broward County Friday morning. The man, according to sources familiar with the situation that was first reported to Fire Rescue around 11:50 a.m., is dead.

Sources tell BOCANEWSNOW.com that the incident happened in the area of 2600 Eisenhower Boulevard which a heavy machinery area of the port. A main roadway used by truckers heading into and out of the port was closed by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies around 11:54 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what led to the incident or how the man ended up in the cement mixing machine. The identity of the victim was not immediately known — he just described as an “adult male.”

OSHA will likely investigate as well as state and local officials. The incident should not affect cruise ship traffic which increases on weekend. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
